Marney's Sunday in the Park Challenge

Thank you to those who created artwork for my "Sunday in the Park Challenge"! I am delighted with the results and they will ALL have a place in my collection in my art studio!

I thought that they were all so wonderful that each artist got to select an Artella eBook of his or her choosing.

Thanks to all who participated!
-- Marney

THE CHALLENGE

For many years, I have collected unique interpretations/parodies on the Seurat painting "Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte". Here's a picture of just a portion of my collection on the wall in my studio.

Click here for some closeups of a few of my favorites.

I want some more pieces for my collection and I want Artella Members to be the Artists! So here's my challenge: download the coloring book image (below) of the painting (from Dover Publications) and do with it what you will. Color, embellish, deconstruct, reconstruct...digitally, manually....simple, complex...anything goes!

Send your finished masterpiece to me either by email or snail mail by November 1, 2004. Every entry will receive an esteemed award, as well as a super-cool prize (don't know what the prize is, yet -- but you know me, I'll come up with something great). Each entry will also be included in a future e-Artella article that I will write about my collection and this Members-Only challenge.

So download your image, and start thinking. My collection awaits your work!

To download, right-click the image, click Save Picture As, and then save the image to a file on your computer. You can then print it out, or manipulate it with any graphics program.
