ARTELLAGRAM 3-26-2011: "In the Studio"
An Interview with Janet Laird
(This interview is continued from the March 26, 2011 Artellagram... )
Artella: How has your ARTbundance™ training affected your work and/or life?
Janet: My work and life are so intertwined that I don’t really separate the two. I love what I do career-wise and have such a passion for learning more about wellness and recovery, that it is my life.
My life has been made richer through increased confidence and skill since taking the training.
My work has blossomed in a synchronistic way in that since taking the ARTbundance™, I have expanded beyond just local workshops to contracting for national trainings for W.R.A.P.™ locally; I have incorporated the ARTsignments™ into my workshops which have been met with enthusiasm. Even people who don’t consider themselves creative or artistic find value from the simple visual expressions that emerge. Adding more art to my workshops has been a great adjunct.
Artella: In your mind, how are creativity and spirituality related?
Janet: In my mind, part of spiritually is the authentic, innermost core of who you are, revealed through intuition or a deep inner voice.
Creativity is the choices I make for solutions to problems which can include the need for self-expression. Both really encompass delving into my YOUnique inner self and originality of thought, connection and expression.
Artella: How is prosperity related to creativity and spirituality?
Janet: When I draw on the inner core self of who I am, prosperity happens.
I flourish when I express myself with my creativity. My needs are met and I have appreciation for whatever blessings I am bestowed with. There is such satisfaction in presenting to the world, who we really are and being able to carry that out without the “shoulds” getting in the way. I think a lot of the time people are not living their passions because they are doing what they think they ought to be for various reasons. If you do what you feel like doing, it expresses who you are and can bring contentment and that is prosperity.
Artella: What kinds of people do you most enjoy working with? Who is your ideal client?
Janet: Someone with similar experiences I can relate to is always nice but I am open to anyone who is motivated to explore their own journey to wellness, who are ready for change. Working with folks who are willing to try ARTsignments™ to bring deeper understanding and clarity is satisfying. Facilitating group workshops bring such an interesting energy with sharing of ideas and encouragement, yet individual sessions are more personal and can be really tailored for life changes.
Artella: What does your future hold? What projects are you working on now?
Janet: My next project, “Art for Insight” E-Course is being developed for people who have previously taken the W.R.A.P.™ Workshops who would like deeper insight to that program and making it more a part of their life by using ARTsignments™. I love facilitating local, individual and group W.R.A.P. ™ Workshops and will continue with that work. I also support clients through long distance sessions to write their own plans for wellness.
