ARTELLAGRAM 9-18-2010:
"In the Studio"
An Interview with Kelly Morrison

(This interview is continued from the September 18 2010 Artellagram... )

Kelly MorrisonArtella: How has your ARTbundanceTM training affected your work and/or life?

Kelly: More than anything, this training continues to deepen my confidence as a coach. Also, I turn to the ACT ARTsignments over and over as resources for my personal life as well as my professional life. The training has helped me pinpoint ways to introduce meaningful creativity to daily experience. The process helps me identify who I am as a woman and a coach.

Artella: In your mind, how are creativity and spirituality related?

Kelly: God is a creative being. Spirituality is the experience of participating in God's creative nature. God encourages me to allow creativity to flow through me, to express myself and to communicate more effectively with others, especially listening with creative compassion. Creativity is another way for me to be spiritual; connecting with supernatural, supreme creativity means tapping into divine creative love. Creativity and spirituality make both my inner and outer worlds more rich in experience.

Artella: What kinds of people do you most enjoy working with? Who is your ideal client?

Kelly: My ideal client feels life is dull and gray. She wants to wake up to life's possibilities again. My ideal client feels stuck, unfocused and overwhelmed. My ideal client feels bogged down by life's clutter. She wants to lighten up and be free to move forward. My ideal client feels unseen and unheard and wants someone to connect with who will value how she shows up in the world. My ideal client is a little bored and her heart craves fun and creativity. My ideal client is at a dead end with a project and wants inspiration and ideas. My ideal client feels discouraged and unvalued. My ideal client desires encouragement, affirmation and gentle accountability.

Artella: ARTbundance™ Coaching is based on nine ARTbundance™ Principles. Do you have a favorite Principle, or one that you really enjoy activating in other people? Which one, and why?

Kelly: My two favorites are connection and vision. I'm a noticer, I notice what others may overlook and I help them step back, take a breath, see things from a new perspective and then choose what's next. This leads to my next favorite: I enjoy activating gratitude in people. When I'm grateful I'm aware of all that is good and right and yes about the world and myself; I like to see this gratitude ripple out in ever widening circles.

I help you cultivate life's ah-ha moments and life's ha-ha moments.

Artella: What does your future hold? What projects are you working on now?

Kelly: I'm facilitating a papermaking workshop in October. I'm offering two three-hour mini-retreats to help women prepare their hearts for the holidays. I'm developing partnerships to help market a day retreat in October. It will be a fundraiser for breast cancer and it's called "Love Your Ta-Ta's Day." My heart is harboring a dream for a winter writers' retreat. I'm also developing a one-week spring women's retreat that will take place in Palm Springs in 2011.
