“Promise me you'll always remember: You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." – A.A. Milne
This day is certainly a day of reflection, as we all recall 9/11/01 and the personal images, thoughts, and feelings that we associate with that day. I invite you to join me today and participate in the inspiring Remember September Mail Art project, which is a meaningful way to commemorate the date while also connecting to your own creative life force. I've included all the details about the project in the Creativity Tip section below, and I hope you'll join me and create your own envelope today.
Mail art – the art form of decorating mailing envelopes and packages - is such an intriguing art form. It seems to have had a surge in popularity during the past couple of years, and I imagine it's largely because of the medium's simplicity and "doability". After all, you don't need any expensive art supplies or need to learn any extensive techniques. You don't need an organized art studio or good light. You just need an envelope and a small chunk of time to express yourself on a quirky little canvas, which will then travel and be admired by who-knows-who in its postal adventures.
I just moved into a new home, and I haven't unpacked my art supplies, yet. I have been saying to myself, "I'll do art as soon as my studio is set up", and I've had it in my mind that I have several weekends' worth of overwhelming unpacking and organizing ahead of me before I can create. Well, when I saw that it was once again time to make the annual envelope for Remember September, I realized that I've really made this whole art studio project much harder than it needs to be.
Perhaps we all need to be reminded that creativity doesn't have to be "hard". It doesn't have to be time-consuming or expensive or draining. Making art in quick, easy, meaningful ways reminds us why we love to create in the first place. It brings us back to us. Simple projects like the mail art commemorative can help you not only "Remember September" but remember you, as well.
On this day, what do you want to remember… about your world, your dreams, your life, and you?
For those short on time, to simplify this week's Artellagram, here are some ”quick links” to the highlights in this edition. You can simply follow the links that you're interested in and go directly to that section.

That is why I'm thrilled to be teaming up with Susan Ariel Rainbow Kennedy (aka SARK) to present a FREE teleclass on next Thursday, September 16, called SARK and Marney's Magic Management: How Your Inner CEO and Inner Spirit Can Get Along and Thrive!. We presented this teleclass earlier in the summer and since it was so popular, we decided to run it again! If you attended last time, there will be NEW juicy material for your Inner CEO and Inner Spirit. And if it’s your first time, get ready to be inspired!
Don't let the word "management" fool you! While entrepreneurs and those with business dreams and visions will definitely benefit, this class is for anyone looking to magically manage absolutely any project, dream, or vision with a joyfull balance of productivity and passion...strategy and spirit.
Days later and I'm still blown away. I attend a LOT of teleclasses and this was the BEST class I've ever attended. Even though it's days later, I still feel like I'm glowing. There was SO much information, and SARK and Marney were so so so awesome, with such amazing chemistry that is really unique and I just feel lucky to have been part of it. I am just so so excited and immensely grateful. - Tara
SARK and I are excited to share our fun, joyful processes for allowing your "Inner CEO" and your Inner Spirit to develop in tandem with one another, harmoniously, brilliantly, and joyfully! I hope you'll join us for an exciting evening of new discoveries and inventions for your own new approach to Magic Management! If you are not able to attend the call live, you can also sign up to receive a free recording to enjoy at your convenience. Sign up for Thursday's free teleclass, here!

For today's "In the Studio" Interview, I'm delighted to present an interview with Certified ARTbundance™ Coach Paula Swenson.
Paula truly walks the walk of ARTbundance™, and I'm delighted that you'll get to know her a bit better, here.
Enjoy getting to know Paula!
Artella: How has your ARTbundance™ training affected your work and/or life? Paula: How hasn’t it? Seriously, I think something like ARTbundance™ can’t help but touch every corner of your life, it seeps into all the little nooks and crannies and you just find your reality has been altered in a really amazing way! The first big thing was taking that old dream out and dusting it off and polishing it up and seeing that it was still viable. This was a dream that I first had back in collage in the 70’s! Even then it seemed like a really BIG dream, more on par with winning the lottery than something I could make happen. You know one of those “wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could” things. So one big effect of ARTbundance™ training was to help me uncover my own power and see how all the odd and disparate things I’ve done up till now have prepared me to do this work. It also restored my faith in myself, which had taken a bit of a beating, and helped me see myself as others see me—and I discovered I was cooler than I thought – LOL.
Artella: What kinds of people do you most enjoy working with? Who is your ideal client? Paula: I enjoy working with people who are ready to embrace change, or at least flirt with it a bit. I really do believe that everyone is creative. I’ve yet to meet a child who had no natural creativity, which leads me to believe that although we have a society that has devalued creativity and an educational system that tries to train it out of us, we are all capable of amazing creative acts. When a person accepts and nurtures that possibility of being a creative being and lets that into their life, change follows like the desert blooming after the rain.
My ideal client is a person who has a dream tucked away that tugs at them from time to time (or maybe all the time!) and they want to explore REALizing that dream. Creativity is such a great tool for actualizing change, which is why I love ARTbundance™ coaching.

I invite you to join me in this very special art project today. You can participate in the Remember September Mail Art project by decorating an envelope to commemorate the events of 9/11/01 (the example above was designed by the Project's Curator, Gail Ellspermann).
Here are the guidelines: - Decorate any size envelope with 9/11 relevant art. The purpose is to remember the victims and honor the heroes. Use any media - paint, collage, fabric, crayon, colored pencil, calligraphy, stamping, stickers, etc.
- Please remember, however, that your piece is going to be carried through the regular US Mail – be sure to adhere items to the envelope securely.
- Feel free to include a poem, note, or prayer in your envelope, they will NOT be opened.
- Address the envelope to:
Remember September, PO Box 793, Katonah, NY 10536 - Put your name, address & e-mail address on the BACK of the envelope.
- Add sufficient postage, take the envelope to the post office and ask for a hand-cancel on September 11th, or as close to that date as possible.
You can visit here to get more information about Remember September, and browse inspiring galleries of archived envelopes from previous years.
