This past winter, my family and I were stuck in a big power outage, due to the record-breaking snowstorms that were happening here in Dallas and all across the country! So we moved into one of the few remaining available hotels and stayed warm for the weekend until our power was restored. While we were at the hotel, my son Kai (who was about 21 months at the time) became very attached to an abstract sculpture in the hotel’s outdoor garden. He could see it out of a window in one of the halls, and he wanted to spend lots of time just standing there, looking out the window.
Here is the photograph of the sculpture….take a look…what does it look like to you?
Well, Kai called the sculpture his “whale”. He was clearly in awe of it. We found it cute, since Kai was born in Hawaii and his name means "ocean" there, so we chalked it up to his affinity for things oceanic. One morning though, he was in full toddler insistence that we take him down to that very special window, and when he got there, he suddenly lit up, walked over slowly to the glass, pressed his hands to it, and looking at his ‘whale’ he softly whispered, over and over, “whale…I came…whale…I came!” Needless to say, we were all in a combination of laughter and flat-out stunned awe, watching this odd yet awesome behavior. Clearly, he and his “whale” shared a very special bond and it was a special treat for us to be up close watching it!
Looking back on it, I think we can learn a lot from children’s natural ability to see things differently. Seeing things that aren’t there is the ultimate act of faith. For most of us, our natural default is to notice “what is”. But as we stretch our imagination to embrace new ideas, thoughts, and possibilities, we learn to embrace “what if?”
In doing so, we then develop something even better than 20/20 vision; we enhance our “plenty-plenty vision”…as our faith in the abundance of possibility comes into beautifully clear focus.
The ARTbundance™ Philosophy is all about seeing things differently and using creativity and art to develop “plenty-plenty vision”. If you are intrigued by the idea of exploring a new vision for yourself in which you apply the ARTbundance™ Philosophy to your own professional dreams and goals, you might be interested in applying for the next session of the ARTbundance™ Certification Training. Applications are being accepted through November 5, and you can keep reading to get more details.

For today's "In the Studio" Interview, I'm delighted to present an interview with Certified ARTbundance™ Coach Woz Flint.
Woz is a great coach, and a true “action girl”. She is extremely talented at guiding her clients to see the world differently, just like Kai and his little “whale”! I know you’ll enjoy getting to know Woz better!
Artella: What led you to become a Certified ARTbundance™ Coach? Woz: I was already a coach with certifications from two other programs but something was still "missing" from my business. Having been part of the wonderfully amazing Artella community for some time, I was excited to learn about the ARTbundance™ training as it filled the hole, if you will, that had been open for so long. It's where the mind and heart come together to create something magical. Artella: How has your ARTbundance™ training affected your work and/or life? Woz: The ARTbundance™ training is more than just a coaching certification that offers tools to use with clients. It's a way of looking at the world and really being present. I apply the ARTbundance™ principles in my daily life and love to see how much richer my sessions are with clients when sharing these tools with them as well.!
You can read the rest of Woz's interview, here
We are now accepting applications for the Fall 2010 ARTbundance™ Certification Program, which is beginning in November 2010. You can get full details and request an application, here.

Last week, I presented a teleclass called “The Awe of Attraction: Using the ARTbundance™ Principles to Break the “Law” and Find the Love”. Over 1,000 people signed up, and we had a great time using creativity to explore a subtle shift on the traditional “law of attraction”. If you missed it, you can download your free copy of the recording and workbook, here! For this week’s Creativity Tip, I thought it would be fun to share a few Ka-love-ascopes with you. The Ka-love-ascope was an ARTsignment™ that we started in the class, and I’ve just been amazed at the finished pieces that people are sending my way! Here are just a few sample ka-love-scopes to inspire you….simply click the image to see the full view:

If you’d like to make your own Ka-love-ascope, you can get all the directions when you download the “Awe of Attraction” recording and workbook. If you think you might be interested in using ARTsignments™ and the ARTbundance™ Philosophy in a variety of professional endeavors (including, but not limited to, coaching, teaching workshops, public speaking, writing, and creating online learning Web sites) – you might want to take a look at the ARTbundance™ Certification Training Program, which is currently accepting applications through November 5, 2010.
